Markha Valley is situated in the Hemis National Park and there are usually lots of Blue Sheep to see. Starting from Spituk, one enters Markha Valley after crossing the Ganda La and leaves the valley again via the Gongmaru La, finishing at Hemis that has a famous monastery.Markha Valley Trek

(Spituk To Hemis - Markha Valley Trek) This trek follows a circular route around the Hemis National Park. The trek is a thrilling experience what with two 4800-5000m high passes to cross as well as waist - deep rivers to ford on the way. The campsites are among aromatic shrubs and wild roses. You can spot blue sheep on the bare mountains or get entertained by the antics of the marmot while following the beaten trail. The Markha trek is one of the most sought after
treks in Leh.

Day 1: Fly Delhi -Leh
Day 2: Visit Leh Palace, Shey, Thiksey and Hemis Monasteries
Day 3: Spituk - Zingchan (4 hrs.)
Day 4: Zingchan to Gandala Base Camp (5/6 hours)
Day 5: Gandala Base Camp to Skiu (7/8 hours)
Day 6: Rest day
Day 7: Skiu to Markha (6/7 hours)
Day 8: Markha to Thujungtse (6/7 hours)
Day 9: Thujungste to Nimaling (3 hours)
Day 10: Nimaling to Shang Sumdo across Kongmaru La (7/8 hours)
Day 11: Shang Sumdo to Hemis (3/4 hours)
Day 12: Depart for Delhi by the morning flight
